Winter Carnival

February 6-8
We went to McCall for Winter Carnival, but it was just too warm and the sculptures didn't last into the second week.  Next year, we will have to go up the first weekend.
We got into town on Friday night and drove around to see the sculptures.  There was a cool jukebox that was all lit up and also a really, really tall snowman.  The pirate ship was pretty melted and the sharks were broken.  But it was still fun to see them.
Rachel, Lane, and Reese also joined us for the weekend so that the boys could ski together.  We got all settled in and the boys, both big and little, had fun flying the helicopters around the cabin.
Saturday morning we had monkey bread and got the boys ready to hit the slopes.  Then, Rachel and I kicked up our feet and had a relaxing day.  Julienna and I even got a little nap in...although it wasn't quite as long as I would have liked.  She did have big smiles....she must enjoy the cabin as much as her brother.
The boys had a great day skiing and are really improving.  They even made it over to the Bear Chair.  Kingston is really getting the hang of making his "pizza" and is figuring out how to turn.
Sunday turned out to be a less relaxing.  My dad happened to come up for the day and we put him to work.  Our fireplace wasn't working so the 3 guys took it apart and after a quick run into town, got it working again.

Kingston and Reese played outside with shovels and sleds for hours.
Then, as Rachel, Lane, and Reese packed to go home, we packed for the ski hill.  It was fun for Grandpa to see Kingston ski! And he did so great.  He didn't even need to use the straps and has started going around the cones!  He is a great little skier!
By the time we made it back to the cabin, put the fireplace back together, put a bed frame together, and packed up, it was almost midnight by the time we made it home.  Whew! What a weekend!
