We are fortunate to only live 3/4 mile away from Kingston's daycare. Now that the snow has melted, I've been able to take the stroller to go and pick him up. He is always standing at the sliding glass door waiting and as soon as he sees me he starts waving. I love it!
At first he would just climb right in the stroller, but every once in a while he wants to walk. And of course he would find the only mud puddle (there must be some sort of magnetism in boys that they are drawn to mud and dirt). His shoes were covered and even his blanket got a little mud on it. Then, once he was nice and dirty, he decided he was ready to ride in the stroller.
We usually make a long loop home and stop by the park so that daddy can study for a little while...you can imagine it is pretty hard to get anything done with this little guy around. Although, if we time it right daddy can sometimes meet us for a bit. He even brought the dogs down to play one day. He only plays for about 10 or 15 minutes and then he is ready to go home.
We did have a rough ride home the other day when Kingston saw a white Avalanche drive past us. He got so excited and was saying "daddy, daddy!" and waving and smiling, but the truck kept driving past us. It wasn't daddy, but it was an identical truck (even I waved thinking it was Jonathan). Kingston was sad thinking that he missed daddy and we had to stop 3 times to talk about how that wasn't daddy's truck and daddy was at home waiting for him. Needless to say, Kingston was very excited to see daddy when we got home.
