Weekend Getaway

April 26-28
Kingston and I needed a little vacation and Jonathan needed time for homework without distractions so we planned a weekend to the cabin.  Alyssa and Molly were able to join us and it was the perfect weekend.  We left Friday after work and had the car packed to the gills.  Its amazing how much stuff you bring when you have kids.  A lot of extras "just in case".
The kids did great and we made it up before dark.  Kingston has a cough that he just can't get over and sometimes it's so bad that he gags. Sure enough, when I went to get him out of the car seat he had thrown up all over himself. So we had a little cleaning up to do before we could settle in for the night. It was such a pleasant night...no mosquitoes and a good temperature.  Kingston and Molly went right to sleep and Alyssa and I were able to catch up.  Joy was able to come by and we had such a good time visiting.  We talked her ear off until 1 am!  Then, it was off to bed for all of us.
Kingston slept in till after 8:00. Alyssa wasn't so lucky.  We enjoyed just hanging out in our jammies.  It was fun to watch Kingston and Molly play together.  He was not wanting her to play with ANY of his toys the night before, but the more they were around each other, the better he got.  He actually started giving her toys by the end of the weekend.
After a nap, we packed up and headed to the beach.  They were pretty cute in the back seat.  Kingston has a little toy that sings "If your happy and you know it clap your hands".  Kingston and Molly were clapping up a storm and giggling.  It was pretty sweet.
We ran into Zac and Emily on our way over; they were headed to Bistro 45.  It was nice, but a little bit overcast which meant we had the beach to ourselves. We brought bowls and spoons and the kids had fun digging in the sand.  Molly even gave it a little taste, but I don't think she was too impressed.  Last year, Kingston loved the sand, but this time he wouldn't get off the blanket.  Finally I put his socks back on and he was running all over the place.

They were pretty dirty so Molly and Kingston got to take a bath together.  They had fun splashing in the water and playing in the bubbles.  Then it was off to bed.  Alyssa and I stayed up talking, but not near as late as the night before.

Kingston and I slept in again.  We had breakfast and then packed up.  It was such a great weekend.  So relaxing and carefree.  It was fun to see Kingston and Molly playing together.  We usually just get together for a few hours here and there so it was nice to actually spend quality time together and let the kids get to know each other.  Hopefully, we can do it again soon!
