Our long relaxing weekend started out rough and ended kinda rough. Jonathan and I had Friday off so we thought we would get up there early. Jonathan spent the morning and early afternoon packing the truck and trailer and by the time we were ready to go, the truck wouldn't start. We tried to jump start it with my car but the jumper cables started smoking and melted. The rest of the afternoon/evening was shot, but we did end up making it to McCall around 10:30 by borrowing Nick's truck. It was a late night and we were all able to sleep in the next morning.
Kelly, Nick, and Tyson made it up around lunch time. We were excited to hit the beach so we got the little ones in their swim suits and headed to the sand. Kingston had fun digging and playing in the sand. Tyson just wanted to eat all the sand! But both boys dipped their toys in the water and had a great time. I thought the water was too cold, but Kingston didn't seem to mind.
Jonathan's friends, Thor and Giesella, stayed with us on their way to Portland. We rested back at the cabin and then when it was dark, we started a fire in the fire pit. Kingston enjoyed playing with flashlights in the dark, but thought the camera flash was too bright!
Sunday we just hung out around the cabin. Kingston loved playing in the sandbox with all of his trucks and Jonathan kept busy working on projects around the house.
The Davis family left around 1:00 and we decided to take the RZR down to the river. I forgot how uncomfortable that middle seat is. This might have to be just a boys thing until we can get the carseat out!
We threw lots and lots of rocks into the river and showed Kingston a gigantic ant hill before heading back.Kingston and I took naps while Jonathan and Thor decided to tackle the stairs. They had fallen off the week before after the wood had rotted. That was quite the project and kept them busy the rest of the night and all the next day.
Monday, Kingston and I cleaned the cabin and packed up our things. He did more playing in the sand box, Popsicle eating with Barney, and eventually passed out on the couch.
The stair project took longer than expected but the good news is they are back on and I think the cabin will come down before they do! We didn't make it home until 11:30 pm so it ended up being a really long weekend.
