Since all Kingston talks about is dinosaurs, we decided to make a trip out of it and headed to Utah to see some dinosaur exhibits. We threw in a few other activities as to not bore Julienna too much, but it turned out to be a pretty awesome vacation. We brought grandma along, too, and it was so nice to have her!!
The first day, we left home late and drove straight to Park City, Utah. We did miss our dinner stop and had to stop in Snowville at the A&W, but we survived!!
The next day, our adventure really started. We spent the day at Thanksgiving Point exploring dinosaurs, butterflies, and anything kid! We were exhausted by the end! The dinosaur exhibit was really neat. Kingston loved seeing all of the dinosaurs and he knew most of them!
Julienna was pretty burned out of dinos, so we had lunch/snack at the car before checking the map and going to our next stop. With bellies full we ventured to the butterflies...it was so much more kid friendly than I was expecting. They could have stayed in the play area all day putting scarves in the air tube and watching them float down. There were enough creepy crawlies to keep Kingston happy, so it was a definite win. And I loved walking through the butterfly gardens and watching them fly around us.
A quick ice cream/root beer float pick me up before we made one more stop for the day...
The Museum of Natural Curiosity was where we ended our day and oh, my was it a day. I didn't really research this one before we got there, but it was a children's hands on play area with everything imaginable. My favorite part was the water area where the water just flowed out onto the floor and we had to make rivers and try to get it where we wanted. There was a wind tunnel too that was pretty fun! And then a huge play area with slides and nets and mazes. We stumbled into kidapolis where Julienna and I put on a show, there was a vet clinic, magic shop, laundry mat, and recording studio.
Day 3 was the Natural History Museum of Utah and the Hogle Zoo. Kingston and grandma played cards or dice games every morning and evening. We played a new game Quizle that was really fun.

Later that night, Jonathan and I drove through Park City to check it out. It was a really cool little town bit into the mountain with the ski lift going right above it.
Day 4 we were heading home, but not before one last dinosaur exhibition. Ogden was on our way home and the Eccles Dinosaur Park was on our list, but not before Jonathan talked us into seeing Olympic Park.Back to the dinosaurs...so many dinosaurs. But Kingston loved every minute of it and he knew so many of the dinosaurs. Each one was as exciting as the last. We were definitely wore out for the rest of the journey home!
