December 4-
A few months ago, the kids and I gave a pretty powerful powerpoint presentation on getting a cat to Jonathan. It just hasn't been the same since Barney passed and we were really needing a pet (the fish don't count). Randomly, Emily sent me a facebook of some available kittens and Jonathan was surprisingly interested (prior to this he was only looking at fancy, rare, expensive cats that weren't really options). We filled out an application and used some connections to get bumped to the top of the list (there were over 40 applicants for this litter), and what really set us apart was that we wanted two kitties and they do like to keep them together. So, we set up an appointment to go see them the next day (but we all know that you don't go "look" at kittens and not come home with one, or two). Jonathan was kinda bummed because the 2 long haired kittens were already spoken for, but even he was a softy when he saw them. We waited till after Julienna's party to tell the kids about going to see them and they were both really excited. Kingston wanted a boy and Julienna a girl but we told them we didn't get to choose, we would take whatever, although that is just what we ended up with!
They were just the cutest little fluff balls and so sweet and snuggly. We couldn't tell them apart except the girl had a shaved belly from her spaying. We even got to see the long haired sibling while we were there. The boy, Koji, just wanted to sit on my shoulder and snuggle in my hair. He was a biter so you had to be careful. The little girl, Sumi, was just sweet as could be. It was tricky trying to fill out the paperwork with them chasing and biting at the pencil, but just like that we added two adorable kitties to our home. We packed them in the dog kennel and headed to Target because we had literally nothing as far as cat supplies.
It was fun to bring them home and get them all set up, although we still struggle to tell them apart. They were already litterbox trained so that was easy and they were eating solid food. We kept them in the laundry room since they were so little and we didn't want them getting lost, but they did great because everything was in there and they had each other! *note...Kingston was really under the weather and although he was super excited about the kitties, he crashed out early and didn't get the joy of being in all my pictures*
