4th of July and Anna's Birthday in McCall

July 3-7
We spent a long weekend in McCall celebrating the 4th of July and my birthday.  We got up there on Wednesday evening just in time for dinner. The kids had fun playing in the motor home with Nana.
Thursday we headed into town to check things out.  We ended up at Legacy Beach playing in the water for a bit.  None of us had swim stuff on so we decided to head back to the cabin for lunch and a nap and then go back out.  And of course we had to sneak in a RZR ride.

After we were rested we headed back out.  Brylee, Zayden, and Kingston had fun in the sand.
The kids played in a bouncy house and then we all got snow cones.  This time Kingston got his own because last time I tried sharing with him and I didn't get any!
There was a little parade with kids on bikes all decorated for the fourth.  This 3 kids got goody bags.  They are pretty cute!
After that it was time to head back for dinner and to get ready for the fireworks.  We had decided to watch them on the dock at Shore Lodge.  I was a little nervous with Kingston being so wiggly, but he did good and no one fell into the water! They put on a pretty good show and we all enjoyed the fireworks!
What a little ham!

Friday morning was another sleep in day for us.  The fireworks must have really tired out Kingston because he didn't get up till 10 am!  That is the latest he has slept in.  We had a quite morning and then headed to Kacie's condo for Brooks and Drew's birthday celebration. We got there right in time for an icecream sandwich.  Kingston had fun playing on the beach and then we went into the swimming pool for a bit.  It was fun to let all the boys run around together. We stopped to get a new tube for the bike stroller and then headed back home.  Jonathan and Cam worked on blowing up the rafts for a big float trip the next day.
After dinner, Jonathan, Kingston, me, Zayden, Papa, and Nana all went for a RZR ride to go explore some trails.  We didn't intend to be out so late but we barely made it home before dark. Zayden fell asleep on the way, but Kingston was having a great time!

Saturday was my birthday and it was my day to pick activities.  I had chosen a bike ride to Icecream Alley and a float down the river.  But first, Monica, Joan and the kids made my birthday cake.  And I got the best part....licking the beaters; although, I did have to share with the kids!
We were quite a site riding through town...all 14 of us!  But it was a beautiful ride and I had lots of fun.
We were hot and tired so the icecream was a perfect way to cool off!  Kingston enjoyed tasting a little bit of everyone's!
Zayden had fallen asleep on the ride and woke up just before we were leaving Icecream Alley.

Monica and Rob stopped and got pizzas for lunch before our next adventure.  It took awhile to get going but we finally made it into the river.  We had a kayak, 2 borrowed rafts, and Joel and Lindsay brought their paddle boards.  The paddle boards were definitely the favorite and we all took turns trying them out.  Jonathan and I tried to get on the board together, but it was hard to keep balanced.  Although, Jonathan, me, Brylee, and Monica were all on one for a little while.

It took a few hours to float, but the water was warm and the day was perfect so no one seemed to mind.  Jonathan kept promising that the take-out was just around the next turn.  After the 8th or 9th turn we stopped believing him!  And Rob was really glad to see the end because he had lost quite a bit of air in his raft!
We came home and had a BBQ, delicious strawberry cake with a special Monica-recipe frosting, and presents.  Cam got me a really cool picture of our family on a canvas.  The colors are so vibrant it almost looks fake, but it was the picture we took on Father's day.
The boys really enjoyed playing in the dirt with their trucks!  They were so dirty by the end we had to throw them in the tub!
We were all exhausted but Monica and Rob rallied and stayed up to play games with Jonathan and I.  They taught us to play Catan and I really liked it...mainly because I won!  It was a long day, but it was so much fun.
Sunday we woke up and went to church, came back and cleaned, and then headed home.
