Ogden Marathon

My mom and I drove to Ogden, Utah last weekend to cheer on Alyssa and Amber as they ran their first marathon. That is 26.2 miles!!! I love going to all Alyssa's races, and usually Barney tags along, but this time I brought a little better company...my mom. Jonathan stayed home and had a boys weekend with the dogs. It was so much fun to see Alyssa and Chris again. We are counting down the days until they return and are saving them a spot for game night. Hurry home, you two!!!

We met at Roosters on Friday night for a carb loaded dinner. We chatted and reminisced about the good old days. Then the girls headed to their hotels to get a good night's rest...they had to catch the bus at 4:45 the next morning!! So mom and I took the opportunity to scope out some shopping places for the next day, then we went back to the hotel and read through my grandma's journal. It is amazing the things she has been through and lived through (like not having running water in their house)!!

We woke up and had breakfast at the hotel before we headed for the finish line. We got a good spot about a block from the finish and set up camp. Kelly, Nick, and Audriana met us and Audriana used her chalk to draw quite a picture on the street. Kelly and I came prepared with encouraging signs!!!

The girls did great and looked so good running in. I'm so proud of you both!!!
