4th of July

July 4-
It was Kingston's first 4th of July, so we had to make it special.  Grandma and Grandpa were going to the parade in Melba, and that sounded perfect for us.  Grandma was excited because she knew that Kingston was her ticket to candy!  The parade was at 10:30 and we managed to get there, talk grandpa into buying us a wooden car, and find the perfect parade watching spot before it started.
Kingston loved the parade.  The motorcycles and loud sirens scared him a little bit, but he loved the horses and it didn't tale him long to figure out that waving to the floats gets you candy.  He got a Laffy Taffy at the beginning and held onto it the whole time.  Grandma and Grandpa were good at picking up all the candy and Kingston liked to put it into grandpa's pocket.
We had burgers at Cook's Two Hole and we all shared our fries with Kingston.  And what is a parade without snow cones?!  We all enjoyed a cherry snowcone in the park before heading home.
This little boy had too much excitement.  He was asleep the second he was in his car seat.
Later that night we met up with Kelly and Nick and their friends to watch the fireworks.  I wasn't sure how Kingston would do with them, but he loved them.  He even clapped at the really big ones!
We had such a fun day and I love to watch Kingston as he is seeing everything for the first time.  There was nothing better than seeing him light up as he waved at the horses with his laffy taffy clutched in his fist.
