The Vet

We've been a lot more lucky with the cats and the vet than we ever were with our dogs.  When they were kittens we took them in for all their shots but haven't' had a reason to go back in the 4.5 years that we've had them, until now!  Julienna noticed that Koji had a bald spot on his head and a quick google image search lead us to believe it was ringworm.  The vet got us in right away and said it could be one of many things; just what you want to hear!!  He shaved the spot and scraped some cells to look at under a microscope.  It didn't fluoresce under black light so it wasn't looking like ringworm, but they cultured it just in case (spoiler...it never grew anything either).  Then they plucked  a few hairs to look for mites, but nothing came up there either.  We left with a diagnosis of maybe a scratch or allergies and a tube of antifungal/antibiotic/steroid and a mite treatment....just in case.  So, ultimately nothing was wrong with him!
