Gameapolloza!!

3 months ago, Kelly and I planned a ski trip to Brundage. However, Nick tore his ACL last month so instead, we made it a game weekend.
Jonathan, the boys, and I got up first on Friday night. We unpacked and turned on the heat. Brrr...it was 41 degrees inside. Zac and Emily (with Rio and Remmy) were about an hour behind us and then Nick and Kelly arrived shortly after that. We snacked and chatted and even got in a few hands of pitch. Everybody managed to win at least once....except Nick, luck was not on his side!!
Saturday morning we woke to falling snow. It was so pretty!! We all made breakfast and it was great: scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, fruit, brown sugar rolls, and 3 pots of coffee!!
It was noon before we all pulled our camp chairs around the table!!
Then, the boys worked on getting TV reception while Kelly and I (with the help of Barney, Tucker, and Chief) broke trail down to the drop-off behind our house.
After Jonathan had unsuccessfully pointed the antennae every which way (from the roof, no less), they finally gave up and we all dressed in snow gear to walk down to the river...even Chief and Tucker had their snow boots on!! However, Chief managed to lose all 4 of his boots. Luckily we found them all.

It was a fun walk and definitely a workout, but we managed to make it to the river and get a group photo with all the dogs!! We even got some engagement pics of Nick and Kelly.

The walk back should have been easy since we had packed down the trail, but it was up hill the whole way home!! We got back and changed out of our snow gear. Kelly and Nick went to visit a friend and Jonathan, Zac, and Emily went to go look at some properties that Joan and Cam were interested in. I stayed with the dogs (who were exhausted) and sat by the fire with a glass of wine and listened to music while our elk stew cooked. Not a bad life!!
Once everyone got back, we sat down to dinner. It was delicious and we figured out that if you sit on a pillow or blanket than the camp chair isn't that bad...but still not great!!
Then it was time for games!!! We started off with a few rounds of Catch Phrase while we waited for Joel and Lindsay.
Once everyone was settled, we played "Things." We had a lot of fun and there was definitely a lot of laughing. Zac ended up beating us all and I don't think Joel even got one point.

Joel and Lindsay had to leave, but we kept the games going with Quelf. We had to change up the rules a little so that we could finish, and I don't even know who won...maybe Emily. It is such a strange game, but so funny. Kelly had to have a thumb wresting match against herself and then her and I had to play leapfrog around the house.
Emily had to make a halloween costume out of kitchen supplies. She also had to sit and point and speak in a foreign language for what seemed like forever.

Jonathan had quite a few tasks. Here he is mummified in toilet paper, but before that we got to fix his hair.
The inseparable twins!!

Nick is doing a belly dance while I make an "X" with my body.

Sunday morning we had leftovers for breakfast and then set up for "Ticket to Ride". It is a strategy game and we had a lot of fun. It took us over 2 hours, but I came out winning!!! I lucked out with the longest train and pulled ahead of Emily.
Then we packed up and tried to hit the snowmobile races, but they had closed by the time we got there.
It was a great weekend packed with fun and games!!!
