Labor Day Weekend

August 29- September 2
Our forth cabin weekend in a row!  We are definitely getting used to cabin life and each time it gets harder and harder to leave.
Friday was a LONG drive up.  Joan called just as we were heading into Horseshoe Bend to let us know of an accident that had traffic backed up for miles.  Luckily, Zac and Emily were right in front of us and lead the way on a "shortcut" on some back roads.  Now, maybe in terms of miles it could be classified as a short cut, but when we finally made it out to the main road from this windy dirt road, almost an hour and a half had passed.  And then having to go to McCall the long way made our total trip just under 5 hours! Kingston did great and was quite the chatterbox until it got dark and he and I fell asleep.
Saturday we relaxed and visited with Thor and Guisela, who were staying with us.  Kingston let them watch Transformers with him (it is his favorite movie and as many times as he watches it, I don't think he has actually sat through the whole thing!).
Jonathan's whole family was up to celebrate Monica and Cam's birthdays.  They wanted to hike around Brundage so we met them up there.  The kids had lots of fun rolling and running down the hill and I even joined them for a few rolls!  It was beautiful up there and so different to see the mountain without snow.

After we picked our ridding partners (Brylee and me, Kingston and daddy, Zayden and Nana) we rode the chairlift up to the top and walked around a little bit.  It was much cooler at the top and windy.  After a few pictures, we rode back down and got hotdogs and hamburgers for dinner.

Then a quick stop at Joan and Cam's to sing Happy Birthday and grab a piece of delicious made from scratch cake.  Neither Kingston nor I like chocolate cake, but Rob's cake made us both ask for seconds!

Back at our place, Kingston fell asleep to a movie and Jonathan and I crushed Thor and Guisela at "Taboo"!  The guys stayed up late, but us girls turned in right after.
Sunday, we just hung around the cabin playing in the sandbox outside and painting pictures inside. Daddy and Kingston built quite the contraption in the sandbox...bridges, and tunnels and garages!

Monday, we had a fun day at the river after a picnic lunch in the backyard.
We packed up the razor and found our own private little beach.

Thor and Guisela had their two bulldogs who had fun trotting in the river and eating grass. Kingston built a sandcastle and loved playing in the water!

Kingston has gotten really good at casting and had fun with his fishing pole.  Daddy and Thor helped him a couple times and it wasn't long before he was reeling in his first fish!  He was very excited!

He even helped daddy set it free..although it was "very slippery!"  Yeah Kingston!
Tuesday was more fun in the sandbox before packing up and heading back home.
