So much for a nice relaxing weekend at the cabin. As soon as we pulled up, I saw the big dump truck of rock waiting for us. Jonathan had them dump it in three different spots and that became our weekend project.
We started in the back yard Friday night and worked until dark. We made pretty good progress and added another layer to what was already there and also put down some weed fabric and covered that to extend the yard a little.
Saturday, we had a full day of work. The boyz enjoyed hanging out with us and basking in the sun (when it was out). There were a few little rain showers, but they didn't last long and they didn't slow us down. We even go some glimpses of wildlife...bald eagle, white tailed deer, 2 snakes, bright yellow bird, and a salamander. We finished the back yard and the lower driveway before breaking for lunch.

Jonathan also planted some ground cover along the side. We are crossing our fingers that it will grow!
Jonathan started on the upper driveway and pathway while I took a little nap. Shoveling rock while carrying some extra weight in the front is pretty tiresome. He made great progress without me, but I came back in time to lay down more weed fabric and more rock.

We didn't quite finish before dark so Sunday, Jonathan finished the rock work while I cleaned the cabin. It's amazing how dirty it gets when your working with rocks and dirt all day. It was a beautiful day and with the sun out it really made all of our hard work look good. Dan even stopped by to say "hi" and was impressed with all the work Jonathan has done.
It's looking so great! I keep thinking that we are almost done with projects but Jonathan has a never ending list. Our time at the cabin will be limited this summer, but we are hoping to be able to make it up again in August.
