Kingston was so excited for all things Christmas!
His elf came to check on him the whole month of December and I think he had only good things to report to Santa! I asked Kingston what his elf's name was and he said "happy". I'm not sure if that's just because he has a big smile on his face, but I only got him to say it once, so we will see what next year brings.
Christmas Eve, we went to church with Trish, Alan, Seth, Hannah, Amy, Scott, and Sarah. Kingston did very good and stayed very quite. He played with my chapstick most of the time, and knew when to stand up or sit down. The best part was when he would say "amen" after the prayers...and he would say it a few seconds late. We spent the rest of the evening at the hospital with Grandma Truxal and a had dinner in the cafeteria. Luckily, Bruce and Karen were there and they had brought Kingston some legos as a Christmas present. He was excited to open them and they kept him busy the rest of the time we were there. We got home late, but we all watched the Polar Express in 3D and then Kingston set out his milk and cookies for Santa.
Christmas morning was fun. We all came downstairs together and got to see the excitement on Kingston's face when he discovered that Santa had brought him a train set!
Grandma and Grandpa showed up shortly after that and Kingston put grandma to work playing! Although, he is particular in what trains he would let her have.
Once Joel and Lindsay arrived, we had breakfast and started in on presents. Kingston had fun opening all his presents. He was definitely spoiled! He loved his trucks and cars, and we all got a big kick out of his gift from Uncle Joel...a giant deck of playing cards (or treasures!). He made it very clear that clothes were not a present. Aunt Lindsay keeps Kingston very stylish, but when we opened up his jeans he immeditley closed the box and said "that not present." We proceded to wrap his trucks in tissue and then put them in the box, announcing "that a present!" Oh, well, at least Jonathan and I really liked the clothes!
He also loved his doctor kit and knew just what to do with everything inside. He used the stethascope to listen to everybody's heart and used the otoscope to look in my ears. Although, my hair kept getting in the way so he decided to give that a trim too!Joel and Lindsay got some baby clothes! And some camp chairs!
Then we did a fun gift exchange, similar to a white elephant, where you can steal or open a present. Jonathan and dad fought over a bottle of whiskey, but other than that, we all enjoyed our gifts. I got a shutterfly gift certificate that I was pretty excited about!
It was fun to just relax and hang out. We played a new game called "5 seconds", took naps, and snacked on food till our bellies hurt. It was perfect!
