The Fence...Part 2

We had a very productive Memorial Day Weekend. Jonathan spent all week gathering up fencing supplies and Friday morning they were all delivered. 51 fence posts, 184 rails, and 4 gates. Jonathan went up with my mom Friday morning got right to work. He got gravel for the driveways and rocks for the yard.

My dad and I drove up after work on Friday.

We got up there just in time to see the skid-steer arrive. The unloading was a bit scary, but Jonathan got it out without a hitch. However, because it had rained all week, the ground was quite muddy and he ended up getting stuck in the mud!!

Saturday morning, my parents came by to help us dig it out. They even brought lunch and we were able to talk them into helping us start the fence. They agreed to do 4 posts, but in the end we got 10 posts out of the deal. Jonathan got the short end of the stick and had to dig all the holes, but with all the help it went pretty smoothly.

Mom and I started pulling all of the cardboard off the pillars. It was tedious work, but we almost got it all finished.

And, they had so much fun on Saturday, that they came back to help us do more fencing on Sunday. This time we got 11 posts out of them. We got a good rhythm down so it was a lot easier the second day. It is looking really good.

Monday was rainy, but we didn't let it slow us down. It was too muddy to do yard work so we took a drive to the rock quarry and hand picked TONS of rocks. And then we had to unload them all.
The rain broke and Jonathan got right back outside to finish the driveway. Looks great!!!
We got so much work done and I'm so excited to get the fence finished. We made great progress and it should be done in no time!!

Buddy I always thought you looked just like you mom but seeing you in the pic with your Dad made me take a double take. I can't believe your progress either. Those are huge rocks!
