1 Week Old

Dec. 11-

Julienna is definitely keeping me on my toes!  She is a good baby but not quite as easy as Kingston was.
We had an incredibly rough first 3 nights (very grateful Grandma was here for 2 of them)!  It seemed like she had an upset stomach because she would be fine and then she would scrunch up her face and let out a very pained scream/cry. It would take a bit to settle her down and then she would be fine...then it would happen again.
So we spent most of our days napping and recovering from the long nights.

The next few nights, she more than made up for it!  She would sleep for 4-5 hour stretches.  That's more like it.
She is starting to be more alert and likes looking all around.  She loves to be held and bounced so you definitely get an arm workout with her!
We had a our first outing to the doctor's office and Grandma came along to help.  She did great and weighs in at 6 lbs. 8 ozs.  The doctor was really impressed that she was only 2 ounces shy of her birth weight.

She has good control over her head already.  She can't lift it up, but she can keep it steady.  She also discovered her thumb!  She hasn't really taken to the binky, but when her hands were by her face she got her thumb in her mouth.  She has only done it a couple of times.
She got her first sponge bath this week.  She didn't care for her hair getting wet, but she liked getting all wrapped up in her towel.

Kingston still loves her and always wants to be around her.  He always asks about her and wants her wherever he is.  And he likes to put stuffed animals next to her when he leaves a room so she won't be lonely.

Grandma came and helped us out quite a bit.  Kingston loved having her around!  They made dinners for the freezer and did laundry.  Grandma even taught Kingston how to make homemade noodles!
I'm really loving having a little girl and can't wait till we can have tea parties together.  For now, I'm just accessorizing her with hair bows!
We are now a family of 4!
